Petry Dish Update

It is hard to believe but we are already more than half way through the pregnancy - I will be 22 weeks tomorrow!

We went to our doctor's appointment this past Tuesday and had another ultrasound. We had to close our eyes for several portions of the ultrasound so as not to see whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Our doctor doesn't actually even know - only the ultrasound technician. From the pictures we have shared with family and friends already the consensus seems to be that we are having a boy.

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat which is personally my favorite part of any visit. The baby's heart rate was at 145 so a bit lower than it was at our last two appointments at 155 and 151 but that is completely normal. Petry Dish weighs about 1 pound which is in the 52nd percentile. Based on this picture below it appears we might have a rowdy one on our hands....

Overall everything looks good and I am feeling good with the exception of not sleeping well. Our next appointment is February 27th. They will check to see if my placenta has moved up(its currently low-lying but that is normal mid-pregnancy). I will also have to get an injection of Rhlg at about 28 weeks since I have a negative blood type and the baby potentially could have a positive blood type. The injection will prevent sensitization (my body developing antibodies to Rh-positive blood).

In the next few weeks we will be working to get things organized to set up the nursery so it will be ready well ahead of our little one's arrival.
